The 100% Model

We made a bold commitment: 100% of public donations would directly fund sustainable clean water projects. We even covered credit card fees if a donor gave $100 via credit card and we received $97 after fees, we’d add $3 to ensure the full $100 went toward clean water efforts. By keeping our clean water projects and operational expenses entirely separate with distinct purposes, fundraising goals, and bank accounts we can confidently guarantee that every public dollar donated goes toward providing clean water to those in need. To date, over 1 million people from more than 100 countries have supported us through this model. Learn more about our 100% Model Statement.

How do we cover our operating expenses?

Since day one, we’ve depended on a dedicated group of generous private donors to fund all our operating costs. While it’s not always easy, we’re deeply committed to this approach. Our dedication to transparency earns the trust and support of passionate donors, enthusiastic fundraisers, long-term brand partners, and loyal volunteers who, like us, believe that clean water has the power to transform lives.

A groundbreaking approach to giving

The Wotter is a community of business leaders, founders, and entrepreneurs who contribute a portion of their private equity to support our operations while offering a distinctive employee benefit. This innovative giving program is the first of its kind to incentivize and reward nonprofit employees through equity. It’s also the latest way we sustain our 100% model, ensuring that every public donation goes directly toward providing clean water to those in need.

Brand Partnerships

In addition to The Wotter, a curated group of companies and foundations support our staff salaries and operational costs through corporate donations, sales percentage contributions, and customized campaigns designed to align with each business’s market and brand identity.

Investment Earnings

We apply industry best practices to manage investment assets, maximizing our ability to bring clean water to as many people as possible. Operating funds and donor contributions awaiting deployment are invested in low-risk capital market instruments to grow our assets.

Gifts in Kind

From technology to office furniture, many of our resources come from generous company donations. We’re incredibly thankful to those who contribute equipment and services, enabling us to work efficiently and with style.
