Achieving meaningful impact at scale requires creating conditions where financial resources can reach those living in poverty. We are dedicated to collaborating with partners to drive policy and practice changes that unlock funding for families and small businesses seeking water and sanitation solutions. Additionally, we work closely with governments to develop strategies that ensure existing budgets are utilized more efficiently and effectively to benefit those most in need.
Through data-driven insights and strategic financial guidance, we empower our partners to expand access to water and sanitation for underserved communities. This collaboration accelerates progress, reaching more people in less time. By leveraging finance as a catalyst for change, we ensure aid resources remain available for other critical needs, maximizing impact for all.
Achieving universal access to safe water and sanitation will require significantly more funding than what is currently being invested to address the global water crisis.
In 2018, the United Nations’ High-Level Political Forum reported that the world is off track to meet Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6), which aims to ensure clean water and sanitation for all by 2030. This aligns with earlier findings highlighting substantial gaps in financing, governance, and policy needed to reach this goal.
The World Bank estimates that $114 billion annually is required to achieve safely managed water and sanitation systems, yet current investments fall short by $85.6 billion each year. Bridging this gap calls for innovative approaches like blended finance, which strategically combines donor funding with private investment. Our model leverages commercial finance to help close this gap, ensuring sustainable progress toward clean water and sanitation for all.
